The brush is one of mans earliest tools; increasingly becoming one of the most specialised, diverse and longlasting industries in the world. In collaboration with a traditional brush manufacture in rural Germany I explored functionalities and interactions that can be enhanced by different brush shapes.

 

The final set combines three individual brushes, offering an easy opportunity to be stowed away. The round base is designed to hold bristles of any type. Each one is made of the same initial piece and can be transformed into holding different materials. Furthermore the subtly familiar but unusual stack of different brushes challenges new unusual forms of interplay with the ensemble.
